What Students Say…
“Donald is more than an accomplished piper and gifted teacher; he is a living link in the great tradition of Ceòl Mòr. A pupil of the Bobs of Balmoral, he carries forward their musical inheritance from John MacDonald of Inverness. With patience, generosity, and a remarkable instinct for the music, Donald teaches not simply how a piobaireachd is played, but how it should breathe, speak, and come alive. He possesses a rare triad of profound musicianship, inherited tradition, and the gift of bringing Ceòl Mòr alive in others.” – Greg Sylvester, Piobaireachd student
“Lessons with Donald will give you much more than how to play a tune, although he is a master at that. He will guide you on your journey to become the best piper you can be. Donald is a part of the long history of piping and he joyfully shares this with you. His passion is contagious.” – Karen Campbell, piping student
“Donald has a wealth of knowledge and experience in both light music and Piobaireachd that he delivers in an engaging way, either in person or virtually! He has been a crucial part of my piping journey, from the early days of Grade 4 Junior to now passing the Graduate Exam with his coaching and prepping for Professional Grade and my own Judging career.” – Jackie Lewis, piping student and novice judge
